Shikamaru's Jutsus

Body Replacement Technique: This jutsu lets the user quickly switch places with another nearby object, such as a plant (normally a section of a log), an animal, or even another person within reach using the Body Flicker Technique, the moment an attack hits.

Henge no Jutsu:This jutsu allows the user to assume the appearance of another person, animal, or object. This is one of the basic jutsu taught at the Konoha Ninja Academy. Fundamentally, all ninja know this jutsu. The transformation jutsu is considered to be among the more difficult E-ranked techniques, since it requires constant emission of chakra while mentally maintaining the form. On top of that, the user would be, most likely, interacting with the environment. This puts much mental strain on the inexperienced ninja.

Nawanuke no Jutsu:A basic jutsu taught at the Konoha Ninja Academy, this jutsu allows a ninja to free themselves if they have been tied up.

Genjutsu Kai: Kai is a Ninjutsu technique which allows the ninja to avoid the effects of a Genjutsu illusion. After forming the needed handseals, the Genjutsu technique will not affect the ninja. The ninja can also use the technique on another individual who was unable to avoid the attack. After forming the needed hand seals, the ninja touches the one affected to end the affect of the spell.

Suimen Hokou no Waza - Act of Water: A variation on the Kinobori no Waza (Act of Tree Climbing), the art of water surface walking allows a ninja to walk on water as if it was a solid surface. Focusing an even amount of chakra out of the soles of their feet, they can balance themselves on the very surface of the water

Bunshin no Jutsu: his technique creates intangible copies of the user. The clones are simply illusions and will dissipate when they come into contact with something. The illusions can be seen through by the Byakugan and the Sharingan. A person with normal eyes can also distinguish the clones from the original, since the clones will not disrupt the area around themselves with their movement (won't kick up dust, crush grass, etc.).






Shadow Imitation Technique: The Shadow Imitation Technique allows the user to extend their shadow for as far as it has sufficient area. Once it comes into contact with a target's shadow, the two merge and the target is forced to imitate the user's movements. Therefore, the two can throw shuriken at each other at the same time if the user desires that. (Of course, to prevent hurting themselves, the user just has to have the shuriken holster in a place where you don't normally have it, like the back, so that the opponent draws nothing when the user draws a shuriken.) If the target is out of range, the user can produce a better light source to increase their shadow's size or rely on preexisting shadows for their shadow to freely travel through.

Shadow Neck Bind Technique: After capturing an opponent with the Shadow Imitation Technique, the user can then further extend their shadow up to the target's throat in the shape of a hand, which chokes them to death. Also, if the Shadow Imitation Technique isn't making the opponent copy their movements, this can be used to bind opponent's body in order to restrain them. The closer the user is to their opponent, the tighter the strangle will become. This technique cannot be used for an extended period of time and weakens with each passing minute. Light is a direct factor in this jutsu. It seems to make the strength of the bind stronger, though has no known effect on the duration of the bind.

Shadow Sewing Technique: The user creates tendrils out of their shadow. The tendrils can serve various purposes, such as attacking or binding an opponent(s). After this technique hits someone, it can then be directly transformed back into Shadow Imitation Technique.

Shadow Bomb Vines: Shikamaru throws countless exploding tags into the air and then performs Shadow Sewing Technique, making each shadow tendril hold a tag. Then he sends these tendrils toward the enemy and they tie the enemy to a rock where the tags detonate.

Shadow Endgame Technique: Similar to the Shadow Sewing Technique, the user breaks their shadow into tendrils. Unlike the Shadow Sewing Technique, which exclusively ties down the opponent, the Shadow Endgame Technique's tendrils can grasp and manipulate objects. This gives the Shadow Endgame Technique a wide variety of uses. There are no hand seals used for this technique.

Shadow Imitation Shuriken Technique: Using the trench knives' ability to absorb the user's chakra, Shikamaru stores some of his shadow in the blades. With this, Shikamaru can target his opponent's shadow and remotely trap them in the Shadow Imitation Technique. This is extremely advantageous as Shikamaru is no longer restricted to a stationary position while holding down his opponent. This charge is apparently independent of physical contact as he was able to restore it with the Shadow Sewing Technique.

Chakra Enhanced Trench Knives: A highly uniquely-designed trench knife, these blades are worn like Brass knuckles, but each one has a sharpened zig-zag 'tooth' over each knuckle, and a blade coming out of one end. Asuma couples these knives with his taijutsu skills to great effect, such that he can take out nine Sound ninja in a matter of seconds. The knives can be infused with elemental chakra to produce added effects. When infused with wind-natured chakra through 'chakra flow', it can easily pierce through stone. When infused with Shikamaru's shadow chakra, it can immobilize anyone whose shadow it pierces. The knives' damage and effect can also be maximised if the person has a better control of their chakra as seen with how Asuma was training Sora and Naruto in focusing their wind chakras into their kunai. The knives are currently in the hands of Shikamaru.

Shadow Membrane Technique: Shikamaru releases several smoke bombs that engulf the enemy in smoke. Shikamaru then wraps his shadow around the enemy before constricting it to a small egg-like size that he forces to implode.

Shadow Network Technique: The user is able to utilize his shadow to crack the ground around him, possessing nearby enemies. The shadow will spin, forming a small whirlwind, attacking possessed and approaching enemies.
