Personality: Selena is a kind individual, with a caring heart. Raised by priests, she was taught to always respect others, and accept them for who they are. While she is rather reserved, and doesn’t come off as especially friendly, she truly is a loyal, and kind, helpful person. This makes her a great kage, as she will always do anything for the people in her village. She’s not exactly shy, she’s not outgoing either. Average, and makes an impression on everyone who gets to know her. She’s also highly intelligent, and comes off as deep and mystical when she talks.

Bio: Selena Yaraga. Born alone and lived alone until the age of twelve. At that time, she was brought in by a travelling group of priests and priestesses. They taught her the ancient magic that they knew, and raised her to be quiet, obeying the rules of their sacred group. See, these weren’t just any priests. They were ones who had been banished from their respective temples. Selena never knew this until accidentally overhearing them one day at the age of 14. She thought nothing of it, and continued under their teachings.

The main thing they taught her was a special form of exorcism. Instead of exorcising lost spirits, and sending them on their way, she was taught how to summon them, and use their power as her own in battle. The spiritual energy and knowledge gained was outstanding. Selena quickly caught on to all the techniques she was taught, and mastered them. The priests seemed a little shocked at her quick progress. Even maybe a little worried. But life went on.

Two of the priestesses did in fact know jutsu. They taught Selena all they knew. Their techniques were unique, and very graceful. Selena eagerly learned them all, becoming extremely powerful, suspiciously fast. It worried the priests. It scared them too. It provoked them to attack Selena. They were worried she was some source of evil that could bring end to them all.

One night, while Selena was but 16, they awake in the middle of the night, sneaking up to her. However, Selena’s senses were quick adept, and she awoke with a start, defending herself as the launched at her. It was that day she saw how much of a dark side those people who had taken her in had. Clothed in jealousy, and wrapped in evil. They wouldn’t stop coming at her. It was a long battle, but Selena came out on top. Her heart too caring to finish them, she left them unconscious. She gathered her few belongings, and ran off into the night, never to see those twisted priests again.

She travelled on her own for a while, when one day, she was approached by a young woman, who looked to be about 19, whom asked her to help out with a troublesome spirit who was wrecking havoc in her home village. Always willing to help, Selena agreed to travel with the woman immediately, to the Sand Village. Once she arrived to the so called “haunted” house, it took her but a few minutes to use the spells and powers embedded into her sword to summon out the spirit, and absorb it’s energy. The young woman had watched all this, completely astounded, questioning if Selena was a ninja.

After the successful capture of the spirit, Selena wandered the streets of the sand village, taking everything in. she hadn’t stayed in one place for all her life…and after considerable thinking, she decided to stay. She had the papers signed, the house bought, and within a few days, she was prepared to settle into the Sand Village.

After many weeks in the Sand Village, she decided to put her talents and powers to good use. She went to the current kazekage, requesting to help the village with anything. After a few jobs and missions, the kazekage noticed her potential, and ranked her up immediately. After a good year and a half of solid work and astounding everyone with her abilities, Selena became kazekage. She now still resides in the Sand Village as their kazekage, still always willing to help.
